February - "MIA- Erinpura 1943"

On May 1, 1943, twelve German fighters attacked British Navy Transport ships sailing the Mediterranean. "Erinpura" was hit and in less than 4 minutes sunk with more than 1,000 soldiers aboard. The quilt resembles the monument founded in 1983 in Jerusalem to commemorate the 140 Israeli volunteers to the British Army who went missing at sea. A dear friend's father, Yaacov Ben-Israel was among them. I made this quilt because a person’s third death is when no one is left to remember them.
