"Forget-Me-Not"

This piece went through many transformations as it evolved but it finally developed into a "Valentine" by using leaves, flowers, and hearts in a true Victorian style. In this piece I am toying with the work of William Morris, an artist and idealist whose influence in the 19th century triggered the Arts & Crafts Movement and promoted the return to the romance and chivalry of the Gothic age. But I have added thorns to impose the element of melancholy and perhaps a touch of cynicism.
