Synesthesia occurs when one of the five senses evokes the sensation of another. Hearing a high pitched sound may cause one to visualize a bright color and jagged shapes, while a deep sound may evoke a dark color and rounded shapes. While many of us have a vague "crossing of the senses," some people experience strong synesthetic sensations. This quilt is a visual representation of the feeling (the touch sensation) one experiences during a passionate kiss.
