The Golden Touch Of Midas

"The Golden Touch Of Midas"

This quilt is about the golden touch of Midas, the king of Phrygia and the son of Gordius. Midas earned the gratitude of Dionysos who asked him to make a wish.
Midas asked that everything he touched should be turned into gold.
He soon regretted this as for even the food he ate turned into gold. Dionysos took pity on him and sent him to purify himself in the river Pactolus, which flowed since with gold dust.
In the quilt, golden button flowers compose the garden of Midas. Butterflies and horses turned into gold. The Pactolus river runs from east to west and has the touch of gold. The surrounding grounds are fields of purple vines and plants made of glass beads. You can see ducks in some of the ponds, in some they have ducked....
