Over two hundreds of these signatures creates a spiral labyrinth made up of 7 windings. As in all quests and journeys, these windings are symbolic of the windings of life. Treading the labyrinth was a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in miniature.
William Blake (1757-1827), in his poem "Jerusalem" suggest a golden string to lead to Jerusalem's gate. This golden string is Ariadne's thread (used to walk a maze).
